I promised my mother I would start this blog and as we all know, there is no backing out of a promise to your mother! So here it is, a page about our family, lives and all the events along the way. And what better way to start from the beginning than with our new beginning. There is a new edition in our family, our daughter, Sophie Rose Blakely. Joannie and I entered into this thing called parenthood last week and it's been nothing short of amazing. Sophie was born November 11th at 12:55 PM in Columbia, Missouri. She arrived weighing 6 lbs, 15 oz and 21 inches long a full head of dark hair to boot! When I saw how long her toes and feet were I immediately decided a basketball hoop in the driveway is in order! Our family came back to Rolla last Sunday and settled into our new lives together. I must say that things have definitely changed for the better. So far Sophie has been a perfect baby, and as you can probably guess, mom and dad are completely enamored with the little princess. Not to brag but I can change a diaper, in the dark in less than 2 minutes. Time it! Joannie is already a natural at being a mother and is feeling great. We thank everyone for all the support and kindness you have shown us over the last 9 months and we can't wait to introduce our little lady to everyone soon. There will be more to come, lots more.
